I’m Joshua D. Swanson, founder, operator, author, husband, and father, committed to building businesses and initiatives that bring structure, integrity, and restoration to people and communities.
Over the past decade, I’ve founded and led multiple service-based companies in the home-improvement and installation space, including Anytime Blinds, Anytime Installations, and Simply Made Drapes. These businesses were built from the ground up with a simple philosophy: do excellent work, treat people right, and build systems that last. That approach has allowed them to grow sustainably while maintaining trust with customers, teams, and partners.
But my work has never been driven by business alone.
Like many meaningful journeys, mine was shaped not only by success, but by seasons of loss, hardship, and rebuilding. Those experiences, both personal and professional, ultimately led me to write Through the Storm, a candid testimony of grief, healing, faith, and resilience.
The book isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about walking through adversity honestly, learning to rebuild from the inside out, and discovering that restoration often begins long before circumstances change.
Writing it clarified something I had been living out for years:
what we build externally should reflect what has been rebuilt internally.
That conviction is the foundation of Restoration Ranch, a developing, faith-based vision focused on creating safe community, mentorship, and vocational pathways for youth and young adults in need of stability, direction, and belonging.
The long-term vision for Restoration Ranch blends:
All designed to help individuals not just survive, but grow into capable, confident contributors to society.
Restoration Ranch represents the convergence of my life experience, business background, and calling to build something that outlives me.
Whether in business or nonprofit work, my leadership is shaped by a few core principles:
I believe businesses can be profitable without losing their soul, and that leadership carries responsibility, not just for outcomes, but for people.
I’m a husband to Michelle, a father to Austin and Freya, and a stepfather to Mavric. Family grounds everything I do and keeps my work focused on legacy rather than accolades.
I currently live in North Carolina after being born and raised in Southern California, and much of what I build today reflects the lessons learned along that journey.
This site exists as a central place to share my work, writing, and ongoing projects, including updates on Through the Storm, Restoration Ranch, and the businesses I lead.
If you’re an investor, founder, nonprofit leader, creative, or someone navigating a rebuilding season of your own, I welcome the connection.
